Spiral Bending & Stair Stringer Rolling

Pacific Roll provides spiral bending, curved tube and pipe rolling, and spiral stair stringer rolling for fabricators, contractors, architects, and manufacturers. We work from customer drawings and specifications to produce curved and spiral components in structural steel, tube, pipe, and other sections.

Located in Riverside, California — serving the Inland Empire, Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, and customers throughout the United States.

Spiral Stair Stringer Rolling

The stringer is the structural backbone of a spiral stair — it carries the treads, defines the helix geometry, and must be dimensionally accurate enough to align with the tread attachment points and both landings without field correction. Spiral stair stringer rolling requires controlling the bend radius in the horizontal plane, the pitch of the rise per revolution, and the orientation of the section simultaneously. Getting all three right is what separates a proper helical roll from a section that has been bent and twisted after the fact.

Pacific Roll produces spiral stair stringers and handrails in a range of structural sections. We can evaluate projects involving:

  • Curved and spiral stair stringers
  • Spiral stair handrails
  • Round pipe and tube
  • Square and rectangular HSS
  • Flat bar and plate strip
  • Structural channel
  • Structural angle
  • Other suitable structural sections

Use the Spiral Stair Calculator in the sidebar to generate your helix geometry — diameter, pitch, developed stringer length, and bend radii — then send us the results with your drawings for a quote.

Curved Tube & Pipe

Pacific Roll forms tube and pipe into curved and spiral geometries for structural, architectural, and industrial applications. Our HSS & Tube Bending capability covers the full range of sections used in stair systems, architectural features, and structural components. We can evaluate projects involving:

  • Round tube and pipe
  • Square HSS
  • Rectangular HSS
  • Curved rails and handrails
  • Structural tube components
  • Spiral and helical geometry

Section size, wall thickness, and required radius all affect feasibility. Send us your specifications and we will evaluate whether the forming operation is achievable and provide pricing.

Complex Curves & Geometry

Curved and spiral components often involve more than a single constant radius. Changing radii, multiple planes of curvature, and complicated three-dimensional geometry are common in architectural stair systems, feature structures, and specialty steel components. A helix that changes pitch, a stringer that transitions from a curved run to a straight landing, or a handrail that sweeps through a compound curve all require careful setup and verification at each stage of the forming process.

Customers should provide drawings, 3D models, or physical templates whenever possible. The more information we have about the required geometry, the more accurately we can evaluate feasibility and price the work. If you are early in the design process, contact us before finalizing dimensions — we can sometimes identify forming constraints that affect the design.

Architectural Applications

Spiral and curved steel components appear throughout architectural and commercial construction wherever a continuous rising curve is required. Pacific Roll provides forming services — not field installation — for fabricators and contractors working on:

  • Spiral stair systems
  • Curved stair systems
  • Curved and helical handrails
  • Architectural steel structures
  • Feature and sculptural structures
  • Specialty architectural steel
  • Curved canopy and facade elements
  • Decorative column wraps

We supply formed components to your shop or job site. We do not perform field installation.

Structural Applications

Beyond architectural work, curved and spiral structural components are used throughout commercial, industrial, and specialty construction. Pacific Roll can evaluate forming requirements for:

  • Commercial construction stair systems
  • Industrial access structures
  • Architectural building structures
  • Specialty and feature structures
  • Equipment and machinery components
  • Conveyor screw flights and auger components
  • Helical guide rails
  • Custom structural components
